ChocoBerryLiciousWhen you want something sweet, but are avoiding refined sugars, and don’t want to reach for a piece of fruit, this ChocoBerryLicious smoothie will really hit the spot.

Nothing against fruit, it’s just that when you want something that will make your taste buds dance, fruit alone can be so boring and linear.  But….add a little chocolate…. and that fruit really pops!

I like foods that pop, that make life more exciting and that fit into a healthy lifestyle.  So, when I need something sweet for my sweet tooth, this easy, delicious and naturally sweetened smoothie is where I turn.  I hope you will too!!

Ingredients

  • 1 avocado
  • 1.5 cups/375 ml unsweetened almond milk
  • 2 tablespoons cacao powder (I used organic)
  • 2 tablespoons ground unsalted almonds
  • 1/2 cup/ 125 ml mixed berries (I used frozen)

Toss everything in a blender, and let it rip.  Add more or less milk for your desired consistency.  I like to eat it almost like a pudding.  It just seems so much richer and luxurious that way : )
